Measure What Matters

Clinicians know that low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is a primary causal factor for cardiovascular disease. But current practice and policy fail to measure or manage it consistently. Despite clear clinical guidance on safe LDL-C thresholds, national quality measures do not track whether cholesterol is actually controlled.
Quality measures allow physicians to manage high cholesterol effectively. Measuring toward a goal will help improve patient care and outcomes for people with cardiovascular disease.
